Kimberly Anne Scott - History
Kimberly Anne Scott (often referred to incorrectly as Kimberly Scott Mathers) was born on January 9, 1975, in Warren, Michigan, to Kathy Scott and an unknown father. By her early teen years, Kimberly ran away from home with her twin sister Dawn to live with her friend Marshall Bruce Mathers, age 15. Both Scott and Mathers dropped out of high school and continued to live with Marshall's mother Debbie.
On December 25, 1995 Kathy gave birth to their first child, a girl named Hailie Jade Scott. Marshall Mathers released his first record album as Eminem entitled Infinite, which was a financial flop that put the couple in dire financial straits. Due to instability at the home of Debbie Mathers, Kimberly and Marshall moved out on their own to a high-crime neighborhood in Detroit.
In 1997, Mathers and Scott broke up due to financial and emotional strain, and Kimberly moved back in with her mother and step-father. This was a difficult time for the couple as Kimberly refused to let Mathers, now Eminem, see his daughter. During this time Kimberly worked as a masseuse and it seemed unlikely that she and Eminem would get back together.
But about a year later, Kim and Eminem were reconciled and remarried on June 14, 1999. In 2000, Kimberly lost her driver's license due to her second drunk driving conviction. Later that same month, Eminem filed for divorce, and on July 7 Kimberly attempted suicide.
In October 2000, Kimberly plead guilty to a disorderly conduct charge and was ordered to attend Alcoholics Anonymous and pay a $50 fine. Eminem and Kimberly divorced in 2001 and shared custody of their daughter, Hailie.
On April 16 2002, Kimberly gave birth to a second daughter, Whitney Laine Scott, whose father is Eric Hatter.
In January 2006, Eminem and Kimberly remarried for the sake of their daughter, but filed for divorce before the end of the same year. The couple continues to share custody of their child Hailie.
